I feel like they milked my cats UTI and kidney issues. It has been an ongoing thing for 6 months (went for a routine check since she does get UTIs from time to time). Went to an internal specialist they refered me to and they said since she's not symptomatic to stop throwing medications at her only when she becomes symptomatic and to do checks 3-4 months. Since they refered me to the internal doc and got records sent over and couldn't do a nurse check for a quick blood pressure bc they did not "prescribe it" but sent me to the internal specialist in the first place. ALSO wanted to do repeat labs....after the SPECIALIST said every 3-4 months!!! And even the specialist I saw was like "hmm why would they need to retest labs when it was not in the final plans." They milk you for your money. They prolong things that aren't a current issue. My cat went from no medications to 3 supplemts and HBP meds which is fine I'm all about preventive care. But that's all they should have done after reviewing labs and seeing that she is asymptomatic instead of testing every other month and I obliged because my cat is my kid and I don't want her to die. Also they thought she had bladder stones put $900 down for a deposit. Then when the day of surgery came, the surgeon said that it is not bladder stones and it's just mineralization of her bladder and then the doctor said oh, that's probably why she's getting UTIs because the bacteria can stick onto the mineralization. They then did an ultrasound x-ray 1000 dollars later so I had to pay an extra 127 for imaging... I find that incompetent from Dr. Newsome. Also at blue pearl that was the FIRST time any one brought up her high blood pressure even after reviewing the medical notes from fishrown vet (over 6 months of notes). Moral of the story get pet insurance and def get a second opinion if your getting killed with vet bills. They def love to bill for everything and take advantage of your concern for your pets health. They did treat my cat very well and the front desk staff really is so positive and kind. That's why they get an extra star.

I've been using Fishtown Animal Hospital since moving to the area last fall, and they've been incredibly kind and thoughtful whenever I've had to bring in my dog Shorty for check ins. When I had to take him to a separate ER they actually called me to ask how he was doing, as well as providing various options and recommendations for his care and specialized needs. They follow up over email very frequently and are always very helpful and kind. I am really appreciative of their vets, staff and technicians.

This place sucks if u call and say ul be only 2 mins late they keep ur money n expect u to pay another 75 for a reschedule visit...they dont care about u being in traffic or anything and they are still open and my cat could have been seen. 2 mins ago..i dont care if there is a 15 minute window. If your still open see my cat I paid

My girl was seen at Fishtown animal hospital today, and everyone who interacted with her was very professional and friendly! I would highly recommend this vet, especially since they were able to squeeze her in so last minute!
